Are you running a business through a restaurant? Or maybe a hotel? Or any other business which is required to keep a huge amount of foods and drinks for a long time?
Then having a walk-in freezer is a key to keep all of the goods we need well. There are many available choices to choose nowadays. However, if this is our first time to buy walk-in freezer, then there are some important things to consider before we take a walk-in freezer.
The first issue which will come up is the cost of operating it. There are some factors which can affect the operating cost, such as the type of insulation in the walk-in, the temperature of walk in (either inside or outside), the location of the walk-in, the number of times when the door is opened, the age of the walk-in, and of course the electricity.
However, for us who are really new in using this walk-in freezer, or for those who has been using this kind of freezer? There are some tips in order to keep the walk-in operating cost low. First, we should buy the walk-in cooler or freezer along with the extruded polystyrene insulation. The other simple thing to do is, purchase any strip curtains for the walk-in to lower the heat when we load something into the walk-in or walk into the unit. The setting of the minimum required defrost cycles is important as well. Do this setting with our refrigeration service technician.
Another thing is we need to check the lights which are coming from around the door, the refrigeration systems, other electrical connections and other penetrations in the panels, at least once a month. We need to contact our local service technicians once we find any lights, and make sure that the lights are working well or not.
